Associate Professor

    Jelena Lutovac, Ph.D.

    Jelena Lutovac (maiden name Vitomir) was born on May 25, 1981, in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

    Education:
    She graduated in 2007 from the Faculty of Foreign Trade, University of East Sarajevo, with the thesis "Equity Capital."
    In 2012, she obtained her Master's degree with a thesis titled “Strategic Management of Bank Capital and Growth in Value,” with an average grade of 9.27, from the Faculty of Business Economics, University of East Sarajevo.
    She defended her doctoral dissertation titled "Strategic Management of Corporate Performance in Relation to Bank Capital in the Countries of the Western Balkans" in 2016, with an average grade of 9.38 and a grade of 10 for the defense, at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, University of Novi Sad.

    She completed her internship after finishing her undergraduate studies at the Institute for Social and Economic Studies in Bijeljina. As a Master of Economic Sciences, she worked in several financial institutions of the Republic of Srpska in Bijeljina: the Pension and Disability Insurance Fund of the Republic of Srpska (Finance Department), the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Srpska – Tax Administration, from 2008 to 2013.

    Since 2013, she has been employed at the Educational Center of the Faculty of Economics in Subotica. She was appointed Assistant Professor in the field of Finance and Banking in 2014, teaching courses such as Banking, Corporate Banking, Investment Banking, Mortgage Banking, Strategic Bank Management, Marketing in Banking, Financial Markets, and Stock Markets at undergraduate and master's level at the Faculty of Economics in Subotica, as well as its departments in Novi Sad and Bujanovac.

    She is the author and co-author of more than 100 scientific and professional papers published in journals or presented at conferences both domestically and internationally (over 15 papers indexed in SCOPUS and WOS in the M20 category), as well as 6 monographs: “Currency Systems and Institutions: From the Gold Standard to the Digital Platform” (2025), “Strategic Management of Bank Capital” (2024), “The New Global Financial Order – The End of Neoliberal Global Policy” (2023), “The Shortest Path to Financial Markets and Corporate Profit” (2022), “Financial Market Management” (2021), and “Corporate Finance” (2019).

    Dr. Jelena Lutovac has more than ten years of academic experience in working with students, both in teaching and scientific research. She has been a mentor and a member of the examination committee for several doctoral dissertations, master's, and bachelor's theses.

    She is a member of several international projects and has been engaged as an individual consultant both domestically and internationally. She is also a member of the editorial board and a reviewer for several international and domestic scientific journals in the fields of finance, banking, and related areas.

    At the beginning of 2024, she attained the scientific title of Research Associate in the field of Social Sciences – Economics, Ministry of Science, Technological Development, and Innovation, Scientific Committee for Law, Economics, and Political Sciences, Belgrade.

    She has been employed at Megatrend University since 2019, where she taught finance and banking courses at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. She was appointed acting Dean of the Faculty of Business Studies and also served as Vice-Rector for Teaching.
