    Dr Tijana Gajić has more than fifteen years of professional experience in university teaching and academic research. She has taught courses at both the undergraduate and master’s levels, with significant pedagogical experience working with international students in Serbia. She earned her PhD in Applied Linguistics and Critical Pedagogy with the dissertation “Developing Critical Thinking and Achievement in Foreign Language Learning at the University Level: The Example of the Student Population in Serbia.” Her main research interests include critical applied linguistics, English language teaching methodology, the use of digital tools in foreign language instruction, and English for Specific Purposes. She is the author of numerous papers presented at international conferences, as well as articles published in national and international M20-category journals. She is also the co-author of a nationally significant monograph, “Foreign Language Teaching and the Development of Critical Thinking in the Era of Neoliberalism: A Critical Pedagogy Perspective.”

    Tijana is a reviewer for the journal Frontiers in Education and a reviewer for study program accreditation at the National Accreditation Body (NAT). She is also a co-author and one of the trainers of the accredited teacher training seminar “Creative Use of Digital Tools in Foreign Language Teaching” for professional development of primary and secondary school teachers (ZUOV).

    She is the recipient of the international PROFFORMANCE Teaching Excellence Award for higher education instructors, awarded for the project “Innovations in Teaching and Assessing Foreign Languages Using Online Learning and Assessment Tools.”

    She is a member of the Online Professional English Network (OPEN) Alumni Community of Practice, Exchange Alumni (Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, U.S. Department of State), and the English Language Teachers’ Association of Serbia (ELTA).
